Ahead of formal campaign flag off, a philanthropist and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Sunny Ibanga has donated a massive office accommodation to a pro-Tinubu group known as Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, AWCS, Akwa Ibom state chapter. The facility which is on the first floor of a magnificent structure located on Oron Road, close to Four Lanes traffic light, Uyo is to serve as the State Secretariat of AWCS in the State.
Also presented was a branded bus to aid the group in mobilizing women in the state to vote massively for the 2023 presidential candidate of the APC, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates of the party.
Speaking during handing over ceremony, the donor who is also a former State Welfare Director of the APC noted that he was motivated by the need for his party to capture the state through effective mobilization of grassroots women. Chief Sunny Ibanga noted further that it had always been his desire to ensure the growth of the party noting that his gesture was to support and encourage sociopolitical organisations working towards the success of the APC in 2023.
While commending the Dr. Theresa Edem-led AWCS in Akwa Ibom State for their steadfastness and faith in supporting the 2023 APC Presidential Flag bearer; Asiwaju Tinubu, Chief Ibanga promised to offer whatever support and encouragement within his capacity to enhance the success of the group’s endeavors.
Speaking, the Akwa Ibom Chapter Coordinator of AWCS, Dr. Mrs. Edem thanked Chief Sunny Ibanga for the donations. While recalling that the APC chieftain had earlier donated an office accommodation for them on Ekpo Obot Street, Uyo, Edem appreciated Chief Ibanga for giving them a replacement after he handed over the entire structure to the APC in the State.
Dr. Edem posited that with donations of the Secretariat and branded bus, AWCS was set to intensify mobilization of women to vote for the APC Presidential flag bearer and other candidates of the party in the forthcoming general elections.
Highpoint of the handing over ceremony was a State meeting of the group held at the newly acquired State Secretariat.
