A youthful stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ibiono Ward 3 in Ibiono Ibom local government area, Mr. Idorenyin Uyire has assured Sen Ita Solomon Enang of his full support towards the latter’s 2023 governorship ambition.

Sen Enang, who is the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger i Affairs, made his intention to vie for the Akwa Ibom state governorship seat known during a meeting with Ibiono Ibom stakeholders in Uyo, the state capital.

The President’s aide noted that he chose to firstly, inform his immediate people before making his ambition public. He added that much as he had a demanding job at hand, making his gubernatorial ambition known became necessary in order to assuage the overwhelming majority of Akwa Ibom people who have genuinely desired him to serve them in the capacity of a governor.

Enang said “I have decided to make public my intention to run for the office of governor of Akwa Ibom State in response to the overwhelming pressure from the good people of the three senatorial districts of the state for me to declare my interest in the race.I wish to assure our people that I will run for the office of governor of Akwa Ibom State come 2023″.

On why he had to delay the declaration, he said, “I was also mindful of the fact that I had a job to perform, which I needed to give my all.“But as you can see, 2023 is just by the corner and I have to begin the normal consultations, while waiting for the official commencement of the political activities by my party to go into full campaigns”.

Reacting, Idorenyin Uyire, who was at the Stakeholders’ meeting, expressed his delight over the development, saying that Sen Ita Enang would make a better governor of the state, going by his vast wealth of experience, which he noted, cut across all political strata.

Uyire, while speaking to The Profile Newspaper on the sidelines of the meeting said: “Sen Ita Enang is the only politician in Akwa Ibom state and Nigeria, who has gone through all the four levels of the legislature in the country. He has been a Councillor in the old Itu Legislative Council; a Member of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; a three-term member of the House of Representatives and a member of the highest legislative body in the Nigeria, the Senate.

Distinguished Sen Ita Enang has the record of being the only lawmaker in Nigeria who has moved motions and sponsored bills in all levels of the legislature in the country.

“He didn’t end there. His vast knowledge in legislative matters made His Excellency, President Buhari appoint him as his first Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly (Senate) Matters. And today, he is the SSA to the President on Niger Delta Affairs.

“So, with all the experience garnered over the years and at every rung of the political ladder, Distinguished Sen Ita Enang understands squarely, the problems of the people of Akwa Ibom state. He started his political career from the grassroots and got elevated to the highest pinnacle. He has made tremendous contribution towards the political development of the state in particular, and Nigeria in general.

As someone who started at the grassroots, and still maintains cordial relationships, Sen Enang knows the problems of Akwa Ibom youths, which is massive unemployment. And he is ready to fix it up. Therefore, he is the most qualified and experienced for the job of governorship of the state, come 2023″.

While assuring Sen Enang of his support, Uyire continued “The 2023 governorship is the turn of Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency in Uyo Senatorial District. Therefore, Ita Enang, being a worthy son of Ibiono Ibom, is eminently qualified and he can rest assured of, not only my support, but we will also galvanize the youths’ support from the Wards to every level to ensure his governorship ambition success. Let me also use this medium to call on all Akwa Ibomites to support the Ita Enang governorship project for a better future of the state”.
