The Senior Special Assistant on Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Ita Enang on Saturday, 14th March, 2020, joined the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari in Calabar for the 33rd Convocation ceremony of the University of Calabar.
President Buhari who was ably represented by the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, was received by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Zana Itiube Akpagu(KSM, JP) and Pro-Chancellor & Chairman of Governing Council, Senator (Dr.) Nkechi Nwaogu (CON).
The Special visitor at the Convocation ceremony, and the Vice President, Republic of Liberia, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Jewel Howard Taylor commissioned several projects including 500-Seat Twin Lecture Pavilion, 60-Rooms Hostel Block for Female Students and Ultra- Modern Campus Police Station, initiated by the incumbent VC of UNICAL.
Special guest of honour at the occasion was the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, who was ably represented by his deputy, Prof. Iwara Esu.
Other dignitaries present at the ceremony were; Former Governor of Cross River State, Chief Donald Duke, His Eminence, Obong of Calabar amongst others.
