The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) has fixed Saturday, October 24, 2024 for the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections across the 31 (thirty one) local government areas as well as all the political wards in the state.
According to a notice to this effect published by the Commission, run offs or reruns, if any, is billed to take effect on Saturday, 2nd November, 2024.
Meanwhile, the state’s electoral body had issued a notice inviting political parties in the state to visit its Headquarters on #5 Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo for the collection of forms LG 001 and LGE 002.
The notice read as follows “All registered political parties in Akwa Ibom State intending to field candidates for chairmanship/vice chairmanship and councillorship positions in the Local Government Elections slated for Saturday 26th October, 2024 are to visit the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) headquarters, 5 Udo Udoma Avenue Uyo, for collection of form LGE 001 and LGE 002 from Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July, 2024”.
