…as Mr. Friday Akpan Asuquo emerges Chairman of Iwerre Ward 5

Following the nationwide change of guard in the ward structure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, Honourary Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Special Duties, who also doubles as the Chairman, Congress Committee, Ini LGA, joined party faithful in Iwerre ward 5, Ini Local Government Area in electing new Exco members to pilot the party’s affair to greater heights.

The congress held at the PDP Party Office, Obotme-Iwerre and Hon. Emmanuel Bassey in his remarks lauded the party faithful for peacefully conducting themselves, noting that to get positive results in politics, those at the grassroots must be involved. He further applauded Governor Umo Eno for his exemplary leadership style within the party and the state at large, while also charging the newly elected ward chairman as well as his exco to be diligent in their dealings.

In their respective remarks, Barr. Essien E. Essien, Political of Iwerre Ward 5 and Hon. Etetim Anwatim, both charged Mr. Friday Akpan Asuquo, the newly elected PDP Ward 5 Chairman to reciprocate the confidence reposed in him by leading the party aright.

Mr. Friday Akpan in his acceptance speech thanked party faithful for entrusting the affairs of PDP ward 5 in his care, promising never to disappoint them. He further applauded His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey for his developmental strides across the state and assured him of the total support of PDP in Ward 5 under his able leadership.
