A popular Artiste and Social Media Analyst, Emmanuel Owuala has cautioned Nigerian youths against the planned nationwide protests, advising them to think twice before joining it.

Owuala who stated this in a release he shared on his social media handles, expressed his fears of possible hijacking of what he termed ‘commendable initiative’, maintaining however that where anyone felt like joining the protest, it must be ensured that it’s peaceful.

WHY YOU MUST THINK TWICE BEFORE JOINING THE NATIONWIDE PROTEST

Hello dear friend, trust you’re doing great. Very recently, there has been severe tension in our country rising from the planned nationwide protest by some people who have risen to fight against “Bad Government” in Nigeria.

While this initiative is commendable owing to the hard times we as citizens have found ourselves, I maintain that going on with this protest will not be a good idea because of possible hijack by hoodlums who have nothing to lose.

This set of people like the one in this video is planning to cause mayhem in some parts of the country. You can imagine what he is planning and encouraging others to do…is that the solution to the problem?

Before you get involved in this protest, kindly ask questions because the security agencies will not fold their arms and watch you destroy lives and properties of people in the name of protest. I hear some people planning to burn down Government properties, financial institutions, markets, filling stations, etc.

My question is, when you do these things, will it bring the good governance you’re agitating for? Have you thought about what will happen when the security agencies launches a counter force on the protesters in an event where it is hijacked? Your guess is as good as mine.

As a people, I think we should ask for a national dialogue where we engage the government on things we want them to do for us as a people rather than engage in this protest because of possible hijack and the after effects.

If you must join the protest, ensure it’s peaceful, avoid unnecessary clashes and destruction of lives and properties. But I strongly advise you stay at home to avoid stories that touch. Don’t forget that there will be pictures and videos which you may be identified as one of those who joined in causing mayhem in the name of protest, and you will be arrested thereafter.

A word is enough for the wise. Use your tongue and count your teeth. Mista Xto in one of his songs said “Fly wey no get Adviser dey follow coffin kpeme for inside grave”…
