Management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Ikot Akpaden, has announced the extension of closure of all its campuses, saying the postponement was sequel to the rescheduling by INEC of the Governorship and State Assembly elections which was earlier slated for March 11.

The notice of extension was contained in a circular signed by the Registrar of the state-owned University; Dr. Ebi G. Eno-Ibanga, FNIM, a copy of which was obtained by our paper.

The circular reads “This is to inform all staff members and students of the Akwa Ibom State University that, sequel to the postponement of the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to March 18, 2023, the Minister of Education has directed that the closure of all Universities and Inter-Universities Centre be extended to March 20, 2023.

“By this circular all staff members and students are hereby informed that school will resume on Monday, March 20, 2023.
