In order to further enhance effective mentorship, evangelization and expansion of membership of their Church in Itu/Ibiono axis of Akwa Ibom state, youths of the Apostolic Church, Nigeria, have come together to form the Apostolic Youth Movement for Itu/Ibiono Field Creation with Bro Chris Tete, Esq, as Coordinator.
Addressing newsmen shortly after their meeting at Km 4, Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road, Mbiabam, Ibiono, Tete said the aim of the Movement, among others, was to create a platform where youths of the Apostolic Church in Itu/Ibiono area in particular and Akwa Ibom state in general, could be mentored.
The Movement’s helmsman stated further that at a time when violent crimes and other social vices were at alarming rate, there was need to have the youths engaged in spirit-based activities to help in spiritual rebirth.
Tete said “Apostolic Youth Movement for Itu/Ibiono Field is a Christian youth group with membership mostly of the Apostolic denomination, although members of other churches are always welcomed. Our aims are numerous. It is our desire to really take the gospel of our Lord Jesus, deep into the nooks and crannies of Itu/Ibiono axis.
“We find ourselves in an era of increased rate of violent crimes and other social vices. It is a known fact that religion is a veritable tool for societal change. The Apostolic Church, Nigeria as a leading Church, could be the vehicle while our Movement could be the platform for socio-religious mentorship”.
While extolling what he dubbed “unparalleled spiritual revival” brought about by the Apostolic Church, globally, the Youth Activist also lauded the spiritual fathers of the Church for their effective leadership of the Christian fold.
He said “The Apostolic Church is a unique church with unique leadership. Recently, the Apostolic Church, Akwa Ibom State Territorial successfully played host to our National President, Apostle (Dr) S. E. Igwe and his entourage. It was a great event and I congratulate the Territorial Chairman, Apostle E. O. Uye (JP) and the Uyo Field Superintendent, Apostle (Associate Prof) Ime Nyong, on the successful spiritual outing.
“Our spiritual fathers have instilled in the fold unparalleled spiritual revival which must trickle down to every stratum of our society. Our group is out to ensure that the impact of the Apostolic Church, Nigeria, is seriously felt in the Itu/Ibiono axis. Soon, we will adopt the appropriate strategy to achieve our aims and objectives.
We’re setting up our various social media interaction platforms for advice and inputs. We also welcome SMS via our mobile communication system on 0802 828 5841. It is our goal to reach out to as many youths as possible”.
