The President of Akwa Ibom Artisans Forum, Mr Uko Nkanga Peter has applauded the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State; His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno on his giant strides across all sectors within his one year leadership of the state.
Mr. Uko, who is the CEO of Fashion Splash, a Fashion and Designing outfit in the state gave the commendations yesterday at his Udotung Uboh, Uyo Head Office during a chat with newsmen.
The Tailoring guru, who is popularly known as ‘Udo Nkanga’, while noting with delight the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed across the state which he attributed to the peaceful posture of the governor, also commended the complementary role of the Deputy Governor; Her Excellency, Sen Akon Eyakanyi.
He said “I want to sincerely commend the governor of Akwa Ibom State; His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno on his superlative performance within his one year in office. He has surpassed the expectations of many.
As the President of Akwa Ibom Artisans Forum, I have noted the feelers from our members in particular and people of the state in general. Everyone is on the same page about Governor Umo Eno’s performance”.
Listing some of the many projects and programmes undertaken by the Umo Eno-led administration, Udo Nkanga continued “His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno started well right from his first day in office.
We are all witnesses to how impassable the Atiku Abubakar Avenue used to be whenever there was slight rainfall. But within few weeks in office, Governor Umo Eno flagged off construction of the Atiku Abubakar drainage. Today, the flooding has disappeared.
What about the Akpan Andem market? It is wearing a new look in less than one year in office, courtesy of our performing governor.
We’ve also seen a super class Christ The King Primary School; Wellington Bassey Way and many other ongoing projects scattered across the thirty-one local government areas of the State”.
On the role of the Deputy Governor, Mr Uko reasoned “One important factor I must also acknowledge at this juncture is the complementary role of Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Sen Akon Eyakanyi.
Our governor is succeeding greatly because he has a Deputy who supports him totally. We hear other Deputy Governors in other states fighting their bosses. But what we have in Akwa Ibom is a governor and deputy who enjoy a good working relationship.
On behalf of our members, I pray God to continue to grant them wisdom and guidance to enable them continue giving the people of Akwa Ibom State the needed good and people-oriented leadership”
