*Orji Kalu adamant; writes NWC, Senators-elect; informs them of his Senate Presidency ambition

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has zoned the position of President of next Senate to the South-South region of Nigeria.

According to a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary; Barr Felix Morka, the Apex body of the ruling also considered Akwa Ibom state for the position as, according to sources close to the APC, the state has not produced a Senate President before.

By the zoning, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, the Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District, who is also the only Senator elected on the platform of the ruling APC is likely favoured for the plum National Assembly job.

The zoning formula is as follows:

The Senate President is zoned to The  South South. Sen. Godswill Akpabio is the only ranking Senator-elect from the South South geopolitical zone.
