The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal has ordered the removal of member representing Ojo Federal Constituency, Lagos at the lower chamber of the National Assembly; Hon. Seyi Sowunmi.

Hon. Sewunmi, who was the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the February 28, 2023 National Assembly Election.

The tribunal while nullifying the victory of Hon. Sewunmi thereby declared the erstwhile State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Lanre Ogunyemi as lawful winner.

With the development, the Labour Party now have 31 House of Representatives Members out of 34 elected.

…Faleke Wins As Labour Party Candidate Loses At Tribunal

Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has emerged victorious at the Election Petition Tribunal with the judges declaring him duly elected member to represent the Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber.

Recall, the Labour Party candidate, Kunle Okunola had approached the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, sitting at Igbosere in Lagos having not been satisfied with the results declared by INEC.
