The Government of Gombe state, Nigeria has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in order to help restore peace and normalcy.


According to a statement issued today, Friday and signed by the Secretary to the Government, SSG, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the curfew has become necessary due to the current eruption of violence in Billiri town, Billiri local government area of the state.

The release adds that security agencies in the state have been directed to ensure full compliance to the directive.

Meanwhile, information reaching our news desk have that the 24 hour curfew on Billiri LGA will not affect travellers plying Gombe-Adamawa federal highway, security agents were given directive to allow motorists continue their journey.
