The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo as winner of the Supplementary election held last Saturday, 15th April, 2023 in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State.
It could be recalled that Ukpong-Udo who currently represents the federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja was leading during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections held on February 25, 2023.
While the Ikono-born philanthropist cum politician sought his reelection on the platform of the Young Progressives’ Party(YPP), his closest rival; Dr. Glory Edet was the candidate of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
