…Pledges To Support Victims

The Speaker of the Cross Ri State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Elvert Ayambem has paid a visit to the scene of the fire out break in Bogobiri axis, a Muslim dominated settlement of Cross River State.

It was gathered that the fire outbreak which engulfed about 10 shops was said to have affected shops around the palm oil and pepper trading areas of Bogobiri.

Addressing victims whose shops were affected by the inferno, the Speaker expressed shock at the incident while also assuring the people that urgent measures will be taken to revive their livelihood.

“I condole and commiserate with the victims of the fire accident. I likewise decry the incessant fire outbreak in the metropolis that have led to avoidable personal and financial losses to residents of the state.

“On behalf of my office and constituency, I express shock and sadness on the unfortunate incident and assur the victims of my resolve as well as that of the state government not only to assist the victims of the incident but to also work with all stakeholders and government agencies including the State fire service in the constituency to forestall future occurrence.

Meanwhile, some of the top dignitaries such as the Executive and Legislative arms of the current administration that visited the scene of the incident at Hausa Community in Bogobiri, expressed total shock at the sight of damaged caused by the inferno.

In attendance are the Governor, Deputy Governor, Speaker with his Members, Member Representing ABC Federal Constituency and former Deputy Speaker, APC Party Chairman, and Chief of Staff to the Governor.
