…Iman Continuity Mandate thanks Gov, Political Leader, others over ‘White Smoke’
The leadership of Iman Continuity Mandate (ICM), a Sociopolitical organization in Etinan Local Government Area, has expressed the group’s appreciation to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno for midwifing and supervising a peaceful process for consensus candidacies in the ongoing local government PDP primaries across the state.
Speaking to our correspondent on behalf of ICM, the Director-In-Chief, Obong (Hon) Emmanuel Titus, while hinting at the emergence of Hon. Uko Umoh as the PDP consensus Candidate for the October Chairmanship election in Etinan LGA also thanked the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and Political Leader of the area for their roles that have contributed to the peaceful process.
Obong Titus who is also a former Supervisor for Education and Council Secretary said “Today, I can tell you that the political process of choosing the PDP consensus Chairmanship candidate for Etinan local government area has been resolved peacefully through the supervision of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno.
We have seen the White Smoke we have been waiting for.
The Iman Continuity Mandate wishes to sincerely thank His Excellency, the Governor for midwifing the process. Today, the general report is that the PDP Chairmanship and Councillorship Primaries have been peaceful across the state. This can be attributed to His Excellency’s directive and his peaceful posture”.
Appreciating the Honourable Commissioner, Political Leader and other stakeholders, the ICM helmsman continued “We must also thank the Political Leader of Etinan Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Isantim Kenneth Okon for his leadership role in the entire process. He is indeed a good leader Iman Ibom people can be proud of.
Also worthy of our appreciation are the member representing Etinan/Nsit Ubium/Nsit Ibom Federal Constituency; Obong Paul Ekpo, the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Uko Udom (SAN), the former Speaker and House of Representatives Member; Rt. Hon Sam Ikon, the Chairman, PDP Elders’ Council; Dr Okon Emah. Their interventions were really impactful.
We can’t also fail at this juncture to appreciate the Paramount Ruler of Etinan; HRM Edidem A. M. Akpanobong and indeed, the entire Etinan Traditional Rulers’ Council for their advisory roles which have gone a long way in arriving at a peaceful resolution.
“We also wish to appreciate the other contestants who aspired to serve Iman Ibom people for their show of sportsmanship. They are trustworthy sons of Etinan Local Government Area who mean well for the people. The ICM also thank all the supporters of Honourable Uko Umoh at home and in the Diaspora for their sincere support.
As we congratulate Hon Uko Umoh on his well-deserved emergence as the consensus Chairmanship candidate, we wish to, above all, thank the Almighty God who has made everything possible. It is our firm belief that the entire Etinan people who have seen what Uko Umoh has done in his capacity as Transition Chairman within these few months, would rally round and support him to be elected as the Executive Chairman”.
