…as suspect denies being IPOB Prime Minister
According to reports, the Päijät-Häme District Court has taken the suspect into custody based on reasonable grounds for inciting actions with the intent to commit terrorist crimes.
The reported incident took place in Lahti on August 23, 2021.
The Finnish National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is also pursuing the arrest of four more individuals in connection with charges related to terrorism.
The police said, “The detention demands are related to a preliminary investigation in which a Finnish citizen of Nigerian descent, born in the 1980s, is suspected of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent.”
It would be recalled that following the arrest and prosecution of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa had announced himself as the Prime Minister of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
But our paper gathered that on the heels of his arrest and detention today, Ekpa has denied being the Prime Minister of IPOB, saying reportedly that he’s just a member.
