The progenitor, Uyo Book Club and Chief Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr. Udeme Nana, and the immediate past Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Hon. Itoro Columba have hailed the Ikono/Ini Development Hall of Fame initiative, describing it as a project that will enjoy public respect.

Speaking when a delegation from Ikono/Ini Media Professionals led by the President of the organization visited them separately in Uyo to present a notification letter on their merited nomination and planned induction on Saturday 27th November 2021, Dr. Nana and Hon. Columba commended the organizers of the event advising them to be thorough on their selection process and to ensure that it is properly done to accommodate the right people.

According to Dr. Udeme Nana: “Your initiative towards contributing to our Federal Constituency is laudable, I wish you success in your endeavors. I thank you for the honor done me, I will be physically present at the event for the induction”.
For the immediate past council boss, the honor is a huge boost to continue to work for the development of the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
He said, “It is an honor to receive you and be considered worthy of recognition for this induction, I appreciate you all and I will be physically present to be inducted on that day”, he said.

Earlier, The President of Ikono/Ini Media Professionals, Mr. Emmanuel Ufon commended Nana and Columba for distinguishing themselves in their chosen endeavors coupled with their contribution to the development of the Federal Constituency.

According to him, “Ikono/Ini Development Hall of Fame is a token tribute to great Sons and Daughters of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in diverse perspective to positive public service, the unique origins and work-life of each inductee will provide insights and inspiration to others extended even to the next generation and all those who aspires with the public interest at heart”.

He said the organization is an organization legally registered in Nigeria by the Corporate Affairs Commission with a legal right for such a project.

On his part, the Secretary of the event planning committee, Hon. Etop Umoidem maintained that the Hall of Fame induction is for men and women who made tremendous contributions to the development of the area, hence their selection for induction which will take place during the Ikono/Ini Economic Symposium at the Ikono Local Government Council Secretariat Hall on Saturday, 27 November 2021.
