Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has expressed readiness to join hands with individuals or groups of people in his quest to overcome the security challenges bedeviling the state.

Governor Masari made this known when he received a delegation of Katsina state security committee initiative led by the former speaker of defunct Kaduna state House of Assembly, Alh Mamman Abubakar Danmusa in Government House.

In a release signed by Bishir Ya’u, Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, His Excellency, RT. Hon Aminu Bello Masari was also quoted to have expressed his delight over the decision of some well-meaning indigenes of the state who returned home and assist the government towards overcoming the security problems.

He observed that their decision to return home to contribute their quota is timely and will go a long the way in solving the avalanche of security challenges in the state.

The Governor decried that banditry which had inflicted damage on the social and economic activities of the state which His Excellency noted will take years to repair.

As a result of banditry in the state according to him, many people lost their lives , while several others were displaced resulting to losing their sources of livelihood.

The Governor lamented that thousands of farmers in the Frontline local governments were denied access to their farms due to incessant attacks by the bandits during the farming seasons , the ugly development that created large deficit in both food and cash crop productions.

He pledged his total support and cooperation to the initiative to enable it accomplishes its noble objectives.

Earlier the Chairman of the security initiative, Alh Mamman Abubakar Danmusa stated that they resolved to organize themselves in order to assist the government to remove the state out of the woods.

He maintained that they were at the government house to show their solidarity to the governor in recognition of his steadfastness towards securing the lives and property of the citizenry.

Also speaking a member of the initiative Dr Bashir Kurfi, explained that the initiative consists representatives from the frontline local governments facing the security challenges in the state , some selected retired security personnels and administrators among others.

  1. I thank the president so much for this recognition of the products of NOUN.
    Considering the fate of Law graduates of this great institution I have series of questions for the Federal Government, Council of Legal Education, The University authority concerning the admission of these young Nigerians into Nigerian Law Schools.
    Now that Mr President has given final recognition and equally signed the Act into Law l humbly request Mr President to please consider their admission into Nigerian Law Schools. God bless Nigeria, Amen.
