PRESS STATEMENT

That Purported Endorsement of YPP Governorship Candidate; Senator Obong Bassey Albert in the Guise of Obi-Datti Movement: A Rebuttal

Our attention has been drawn to an endorsement saga involving some endorsement racketeers in Akwa Ibom State via a Press Release.
According to the release, a certain group of persons who call themselves “majority of leaders of the OBI-DATTI movement in Akwaibom state” claimed that they worked for the Obi-Datti Presidential project and therefore, have endorsed the Governorship Candidate of YPP; Senator Obong Bassey Albert as their preferred Candidate for March 11, 2023 governorship election in the state.

On the strength of the aforesaid, the leadership of Uduakobong/Ebongho 2023 Campaign Council wishes to state and declare as follows:

  1. That all the signatories of the ill-conceived Press Release are notorious political vultures whose only stock-in-trade is dubious political merchandise in different forms.

2.That it would be instructive to alert the political class in the state and the general public on the criminal intents of these persons who parade as leaders of Obi-Datti Movement.

  1. That their claim of working for the Obi-Datti Presidential project is false in its entirety. It is worthy to state it clear here that these are persons who came into the Labour Party/Obi-Datti Movement with sinister intent to embezzle money and they are looking elsewhere now after successfully pocketing monies earmarked for different items in the Labour Party/Obi-Datti Presidential Project.
  2. That having perfected their criminal mission in the Labour Party, they have now moved to the YPP for their endorsement racketeering and may continue to so move to other political parties for this same illicit trade.
  3. That for the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state categorically clear that every genuine Obedient in Akwa Ibom state who worked for Obi-Datti Presidential Project is fully in support of the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Akwa Ibom state; Mr. Uduak Udoh to emerge victorious, come March 11, 2023.
This is even as our Presidential Candidate; His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi has directed that all Obedients should go out and vote for all Labour Party candidates on Saturday with the strong belief that our stolen Presidential mandate shall be recovered in the Court of Law.
