Emem Usoro, a native of Akwa Ibom State in Southern Nigeria, leads a fulfilling life as a devoted spouse and loving parent.

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Uyo in 1996 and pursued further education, acquiring a Master’s in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1997. Emem’s thirst for knowledge led her to attend the Senior Management Program at Lagos Business School, Pan African University in 2007. Seeking to enhance her leadership skills, she also completed the Strategic Management Program and General Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

Joining the United Bank for Africa (UBA) in 2010, Emem served as the Regional Head of the Akwa Ibom and Abuja Branches from 2010 to 2013. Her unwavering dedication and exceptional performance propelled her to ascend through the ranks, ultimately becoming an Executive Director in 2022.

In September 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Emem Usoro as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), recognizing her exemplary expertise and leadership.
