AfDB: Mr Akinwumi cleared of corruption allegations

Furore over declaration of Thursday and Friday as Public Holidays


The hashtag is trending as a cross section of Nigerians took to social media to express dissatisfaction over the declaration of Thursday, July 30 and Friday July 31, 2020 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

We sell electricity to neighboring countries and they’re owing us- Buhari


The Presidency has disclosed that two neighbouring countries, Niger and Benin, currently owe Nigeria a total of N1.2 billion for electricity supplied.

Giving a breakdown of the figure, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, said that Niger owes only USD 16 million and Benin, USD 4 million, adding up to the Naira equivalent of about N1.2 billion.
