In few months time, the 2023 general elections will begin to gather momentum and the set of Nigerians mostly used during this period, are the youths.

The most annoying part is that they would be abandoned immediately after such usage, only to be remembered after four (4) years; ie, the next election period!

The unfortunate fact is that those who use them have successfully made them to believe that ‘Youths are the Leaders of Tomorrow’! Damn it! This is a day that will never come? There’s no such a day as ‘tomorrow’. No one has ever seen it.

Therefore, to assume the rightful place on the table of leadership, the Nigerian youth must note the following:

Let’s abhor greed…

Let’s flee from sycophancy…

Let’s not accept any party as a ‘religion’, so that we will not be tagged ‘infidels’ if we turn against them in an event of their disappointing outing…

Let’s begin to be fearless in demanding accountability and transparency from people in government…

Let’s not settle for the crumbs…

Let’s not convert to our individual pockets what was meant to be shared amongst others…

Let’s be diligent in whatever legitimate task assigned to us…

Let’s tell ‘the man’ to use his son or daughter for the thuggery job…

Let’s not act the Judas and betray our fellow youths; for even the one who pays you to betray another will not take you seriously; trust or entrust you with any meaningful position of leadership…

Let’s be tired of demanding crumbs from the ‘Obongowo’, ‘Alhaji’, ‘Megida’, ‘Egbon’ or ‘Oga’; and let’s be ashamed of lurking around their gates…

Let’s find something doing and then invite God’s blessing and be content and proud of it…

Above all, Let’s be united in sounding that there is no day like ‘TOMORROW’!

Note therefore, that there are two days in human existence: YESTERDAY and TODAY. No one ever sees tomorrow.

Youths should not wait to be ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’; for tomorrow will never come.

If the youths must be leaders, and earnestly desire to be; then, IT MUST BE TODAY!!!

And, that today is 2023!!
