The Ntisong of Akwa Esop Ima Isong Ibibio, His Imperial Majesty, Ntisong Elder(Dr.) Essien U. Ekidem Ntisong Ibibio 111 is set to bury the remains of her late wife, Atai Obonganwan Deaconess(Mrs) Grace Essien Udo Ekidem.

A release signed and made available to newsmen reads in part “with heavy hearts and true sense of loss,we the entire family of Nung Akpan Essien in Ikot Okudom,Okon,Eket LGA wish to announce the sudden demise of our dear wife, mother, mother in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend”

Atai Obonganwan Deaconess(Mrs) Grace Essien Udo Ekidem until her demise was a great woman leader and mobilizer both in her church and community. She was a pillar of strength to her husband and by extension, Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, the apex Ibibio socio cultural organisation.

According to the release, the burial event would begin with the opening of the mourning house on Sunday, 7th November, 2021, to be followed by visitations by individuals, friends, associates and organizations from Monday, 8th November to Thursday, 11th November, 2021 at her residence on Lagos Street, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

The funeral service would be on Saturday, 13th November, 2021 at QIC Primary School, Okon Eket by 10 am, which is to be conducted by the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, while the Thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday,14th November, 2021 at Lutheran church of Nigeria, 37 Enwe Street,Uyo,Akwa Ibom State.

The release further invites friends, well wishers and the general public to attend the event.
