… Felicitates Umo Eno, A’Ibom

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, has appluaded Governor Udom Emmanuel for identifying and supporting Pastor Umo Eno, whom he described as a competent successor.

Chief Obansanjo who was the special guest at the commissioning of the
23.4km Etinan-Eket Road noted that having seen the development strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel and commissioned different projects in the state over the years, he was concerned about succession for obvious reasons.

He maintained that he was satisfied that the governor supported a very competent candidate to succeed him, adding that he was confident that Pastor Eno would further on the development trajectory of his predecessor.

Commending Governor Udom, he stated, “You have particularly honoured me. I have come here to commission projects at your invitation more than any other state in Nigeria. God will continue to expand your coast. I like what I have heard from those who have delivered goodwill messages. Governor, you are doing well.

“One of the things that bothered me was how you’ll land and how succession will take place, and you kept saying to me, don’t worry. At the appropriate time, you confidentially introduced someone to me.

“To me, success is making a place better than you find it and you have made the whole of Akwa Ibom State better than you found it, therefore you’re a success. Success without a good successor becomes a bit hollow; and what you said to me concerning your succeesor is what I have seen; which is capacity too, ability too, and predictability.

“And to the governor-elect, I congratulate you, I congratulate the Governor, I congratulate myself, I congratulate all the people of Akwa Ibom State. From what I have seen and from what I have heard, I have no doubt that you have a legacy and that you will keep on the path of rectitude by following a great leader and doing well for your people,” he said.
