Law Students Association of Nigeria, LAWSAN, National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Uyo Study Centre, now has a New Executive with Comrade Ime Silas as President, succeeding Noah Agbo.

The swearing-in, which followed the Chapter’s successful election conducted online on the 27th of June 2020, was performed by a Legal Practitioner, Mfon Brown, Esq.

The inauguration which was held online also had Ms Philomena Etim sworn-in as the new Vice President. The event was attended by Law Students of the Centre.

In his inaugural remarks, the President promised to work with every student especially other contenders at the just concluded polls in order to actualise the dreams of the association.

The President, Comrade Silas said: “I hereby acknowledge my co-contender , and others who participated in that Election and I look forward to working with them to deliver to LAWSANITES our collective dreams”

Speaking further, he promised to carry everybody along and noted that the Executives were only servants.

“I promise to carry everyone along and I pray God will give me and every Executive Member, the grace to carry out the mandate required”

Also sworn in,  to the admiration of Students on the Platform were Anietie Umana as Secretary and Mandu IniAbasi as Financial Secretary. Others were , Ukpana Etukudo as Director of Programs, while Imaobong Ema was sworn in as Treasurer.

It would be recalled that the swearing in took place on the 1st of July 2020 and also set a precedence as the Uyo Study Centre now  joined the league of other Study Centres to Conduct Elections and Swearing using the Online Medium because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
