The membership strength of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State has continued to grow, following recent defection of the State Governor, His Excellency, Prof. (Sen) Ben Ayade from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

As against earlier beliefs in some political quarters that the defection of the governor would not have any effect on the PDP in the state, the now opposition party in Cross River state has “…continued to experience free sinking…”, according to pundits, due to daily influx of influential political bigwigs into the APC.

Our correspondent who monitored today’s defection occasion gathered that more of such big fishes would continue to defect from the PDP to the APC in the state in the coming days.

According to updates from Philip Obin who represented the Acting State Chairman of the APC in Cross River, Sen Matthew Mbu, the leadership of the party and His Excellency, Governor Ayade are delighted to welcome the latest defectors into the party.
