…charges Christian Leaders to avoid hatred, sentiments

The General Overseer of Christ Deliverance Ministries, Prophet Ekong Ituen has called on all Nigerians to eschew sentiments and religious hatred but pray for spiritual cleansing in order to avert what he described as ‘impending tragedy’.

The fierce clergy who stated this in a message he personally signed and same published on his social media handles also appealed to Christian leaders to apply sense of responsibility in their approach to governance issues.

Prophet Ekong said “The Presidential Villa {Aso Rock} needs fervent prayer and spiritual cleansing to avert impending tragedy, as reflected in the spiritual realm. I urge Nigerians to pray for mercy because an injury to one is an injury to all.

I appeal to our Christian leaders to approach issues of governance with a high sense of responsibility and keep sentiment and religious hatred out of it. They should emulate pastors like Enoch Adeboye and William Kumuyi and refrain from marketing hatred in place of constructive criticism, as Christianity is a religion of love and peace void of hatred”.

While imploring the citizens to be constructive in their criticism of government policies said further “It’s unnecessary to resort to abuse when disagreeing with someone’s policies. Criticizing some government policies one may consider less than ideal is acceptable, but it should be done responsibly and constructively”.
