The attention of Akwa Ibom APC Foundation has been brought to a failed attempt by one Engr. Ita Awak, a ‘foreign-based’ political opportunist, to insult our revered Director-General, Dr. Effiong Etok.
We chose to call it a ‘failed attempt’ because we believe that it takes an entity to insult an entity. Where a nonentity like Engr. Ita Awak looks for the slightest available avenue to hurl muds at a Political Figure as respectable as Dr. Effiong Etok, such level of irresponsibility needs not escape without a caution.
We must remind the ‘opportunist’ Ita Awak that the man he is attempting to insult is a former State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Akwa Ibom State, whose right of freedom of association and expression are inalienable.
We must also remind Ita Awak that he luckily became the Ag. State Publicity Secretary of the APC upon the suspension of a substantive State Publicity Secretary, and opportunistically became a federal appointee, hence, would not understand the language of organizational politics and its import.
It’s so unfortunate to note how Ita Awak betrayed his much-touted intelligence by failing to point in his diatribe, his nonsensical ” SIGNS OF ADULT DELINQUENCY ” as well as his foolish talk of “… stocking the embers of divisiveness…” in a message which Dr. Effiong Etok rightly signed in his capacity as Director-General of a sociopolitical organization, congratulating the National Caretaker Committee of our party, which was constituted by the national leadership with the consent of Mr. President.
If Ita Awak has any frustration regarding the newly constituted Caretaker Committee, he should be sensible enough to know where to channel same and stop this ‘hand of Esau’.
Much as we would love to remind Ita Awak of many other things before he dances naked in public, we will end here with the proverbial advice of the Late Chinua Achebe to wit: ” Those whose palm kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent sun should learn to be humble “.
