The Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi has donated a million naira to Hausa Community in the area for renovation of their central mosque.

Egunjobi made the donation on Friday at the mosque otherwise known as Mosalashi Alhaja where he observed Jummat prayer.

After the Jummat prayer session, the council boss, while addressing the leadership of the mosque and Hausa Community in general, urged them to always give maximum supports to the state and local government at all times.

Subsequently the council boss announced his donation in support of the planned renovations of the entire mosque in the sum of One million (N1,000,000) naira only.

Recall that the mosque had been under lock by the Lagos State Government over breach of COVID-19 lockdown protocols and face off between state officials and some members of the community.

The mosque was reopened for service today in line with the directives of the state government on eased lockdown.

The council Chairman observed the prayers session along with the Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure, Arc. Ahmed Kabir Abdullahi.

In appreciation, the leadership of the mosque commended the council boss for his donation and efforts made to ensure that the mosque in particular was reopened by the state government.
