In a bid to sensitize the people of the state, especially those at the grassroots on the imperatives of the economic blueprints of the present Governor, as wrapped in the ARISE agenda, an amalgamation of supporters of Pastor Umo Eno, ARISE Ambassadors, last Friday, inaugurated officers to run it’s affairs.
The colourful event, which took place at the Sheergrace Center along Nsikak Eduok Avenue, Uyo, had Rev Richard Petters as Chairman, Ekomobong Petters, Vice chairman, Thomas Thomas, Secretary.
Others were, Victor Ukpong, Josephine Bassey, Imo Etim Udo, Victor Charles, Sabastine Essien, Victor Nyong and a host of others.
In a speech, chairman Board Of Trustee and Frontline journalist, Ernest Akpan charged the officers to interpret the vision and sacred mandate of the group, even as he assured the government that the body will propagate the governor’s development and economic proposal as well as stimulate support and integration from the masses.
He said the vision to educate the public on the content of ARISE Agenda became necessary as the need to interpret the governor’s dream increased.
In his opening remarks, chairman on the occasion and chairman, Ibom Airport Development Company, Dr. Iniobong Essien commended the the group for the vision and described their mission as critical for the success of the state government.
Also speaking, wife of former military governor, Funmi Idongesit Nkanga described the group as oxygen in the live of the present state government. According to her, anyone who knows what the ARISE agenda mean, will support the present government, hence, the sacrosanctity of the ARISE Ambassadors.
In his acceptance speech, Richard Petters appreciated the Ambassador for finding him fit to lead them, even as he promised that they will take the message over the hills, planes and valleys in the state. He solicited support and encouragement from all, to enable them translate their dream to physical reality.
The event attracted a mammoth crowd to the venue. Notable among them were the state chairman, Christian Association Of Nigeria, CAN, Bishop Chris Nyong, Elder Brother of the state governor, Bishop Ernest Enoidem, High Chief Sunny Udonsek inter Alia.
