A woman in the US has been awarded the title of having the longest fingernails in the world, with a total length of up to 5.4 meters.
Nail artist Ayanna Williams, from Houston, Texas in the US, has been growing her nails for the past 23 years. Recently, she was included in the Guinness Book of World Records 2018 with the title of the person with the longest nails in the world (5.4 m).
“I feel proud and honored. Even in my dreams, I never thought I’d be in the Guinness Book of World Records,” said Ayanna.

Ayanna shared that the biggest challenge of owning extremely long nails is when pulling pants. Also, it usually takes her a week to get her nails done.
To take care of her nails, Ayanna uses antibacterial soap and specialized brushes to clean them every day. Then she applied a layer of acrylic acid to her nails to make them grow faster.
“I applied for the world record because I wanted my children to know that anything they want to do can be done. It requires courage, discipline and perseverance,” Ayanna said.
