The Former Commissioner, Law Reforms Commission and Publisher of The Sermon Newspaper, Otuekong Bonny Nyong has called on youths to take advantage of various opportunities that come their way without considering their poor background as a barrier to fulfilling their potentials.
He made the call on Sunday, 21st November, 2021 while speaking at The Chosen True Light Global Gospel Mission Youth Rally organised by the Youth Fellowship of the church with the theme “Preparing for the future”. The event was held at the church auditorium, Ekpene Ukim, Uruan LGA.
Otuekong Bonny Nyong while welcoming the dynamic youths of the church, enjoined them to be focused in life in order to achieve a better future.
Also speaking, Mr. Joseph Emmanuel of Richman Communication urged the youths to come to the table with productive ideas in order to add value to the society and be part of the solution to problems of one another, while also charging them to allow God to perfect His will in them at appropriate time.
He also urged them to move on in life despite any situation so that they could do well in life, adding that there is no shortcut to success.
In his speech, the Chairman on the occasion, Mr. Effiong Essien Etim popularly known as Etim Homage who spoke on the topic, “Preparing the future: A panacea for a better tomorrow” urged the youths to have confidence in themselves, be open to feedbacks from their colleagues and superiors, be open to challenges and shouldn’t be afraid to take risks in life.
The chairman also admonished the youths to master the skill of time management and finally called on them to learn to work as team players.
The event featured fund raising for the purchase of Musical instruments, Prayer for the Youths, Word Ministration and Song Renditions from various Artistes.
In attendance were the General Overseer of the ministry, Apostle Ezekiel Akan and wife, Mrs. Bright Akan; Pastor Etim Donatus; Evangelist Florence Emmanuel; Prophetess Ma-obong Patrick; Elder Raphael Eyo; Mr. Itohowo Etim; among others.
