PRESS RELEASE

ON ALLEGED EXTORTION OF APPLICANTS & OTHER FORMS OF MALPRACTICES ON THE ONGOING TEACHERS RECRUITMENT EXERCISE BY THE STATE UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION BOARD (SUBEB)

The attentionof the Board and Management of Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB) has been drawn to claims making the rounds that certain persons are involved in untoward practices aimed at deceiving and extorting money from members of the Public and applicants who applied to work as Teachers in the ongoing SUBEB recruitment process.

For the records, the Board is not acting through a third party and as such does not have any link whatsoever with those attempting the extortion.

SUBEB reiterate its anti-corruption stance, and warn fraudster to steer clear from its affairs. We also enjoin SUBEB staff serving in various LGAs to desist from indulging in corrupt practices, so as not to hamper the job recruitment drive of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration.

Accordingly, we strongly caution all applicants and members of the public not to engage in any financial transaction with any Staff of SUBEB or any other person whatsoever; in the ongoing recruitment process as such financial transaction is totally illegal.
