It was a rare convergence of the
crème de la crème in Akwa Ibom State and beyond cutting across the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary as well as the fourth estate of the realm as the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence Ntenyin Solomon Etuk gives out first daughter,Princess Esit-Ime in marriage.

In his remarks, the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel congratulated the Oku Ibom Ibibio for God’s abundant grace in his family which, he said has made everything bright and beautiful.

He noted that so many things are happening in the society, but God has been faithful and has kept them in good health to celebrate and give out their daughter in marriage.

Admonishing the couple, the Governor said marriage is a very interesting institution and urged them to live in love and unity according to God’s standard for marriage as contained in the book of Genesis, and prayed God to bless the new family.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Pastor Umo Eno thanked God for a successful event saying, “God has crowned our modest efforts channeled towards making the event successful.”

He expressed delight at the massive turn out of very important personalities within and outside the state to grace the event, saying it was a deserving honour given the caliber of the bride’s parents.

Pastor Umo Eno who is the State’s Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, and the Political leader of Nsit in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, thanked God for the clement weather, members of the planning committee for their contributions and everyone who supported in different capacities to make the event successful and prayed for God to bless them and the new union.

The ceremony which was rightly described as a five star traditional intercourse, midwifed and delivered by Pastor Umo Eno led planning committee, also featured different traditional displays with numerous socio-political groups in attendance.
