Nigeria and Atalanta of Italy striker, Ademola Lookman is currently trending on social media for his superlative performance against their host, Napoli.
The Balloon d’Or 14th best player scored twice within thirty minutes to secure a 3:0 victory for his club.
Until last transfer window, Lookman’s compatriot, Victor Osimhen was plying his soccer trade at Napoli.
The reigning CAF Footballer of the Year, Osimhen had joined Napoli in 2020 and had been with the team until recently when his relationship with the club appeared sour.
He narrowly escaped transfer window when he was loaned to Galatasaray.
During his football trade at Napoli, Osimhen made 108 appearances and netted an impressive 65 goals. His successful stint at his former club earned him several accolades, including the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021-22 season.
Victor Osimhen also won the league’s top scorer with 26 goals in the 2022-23 season. He was also Serie A Top Scorer (2022-23) and Serie A Footballer of the Year.
Most fans who flood the Social Media to praise Ademola Lookman for scoring the two goals, described it as ‘revenge’ against Napoli for the hostility they meted out against his countryman, Osimhen.
