…our governorship candidate is decent and competent -PCC Coordinator

Labour Party Candidate for March 11 governorship election in Akwa Ibom state; Mr. Uduak Udoh has reassured his teeming supporters and all OBIdients in the state that he is in the 2023 governorship race to win and deliver people-oriented governance to the people.

Udoh, who gave the assurance today in Uyo during a joint Media briefing with the State Executive Council of the Labour Party, Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and Uduakobong/Ebongho 2023 Campaign Council to debunk the rumours of his alleged stepping down for his counterpart in the YPP; Sen. Bassey Albert, said it would be ridiculous to even imagine that a man who is winning in a contest would step down for a loser.

“As far as the ongoing 2023 elections are concerned, the Labour Party is the winning party. Today, Nigerians and of course, the whole world know that our Presidential Candidate; His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi won the Presidential election conducted on February 25. Very soon, we shall recover the mandate in the Court of Law”, LP 2023 Governorship Candidate stated during the joint Media briefing.

While stressing on the rumours of his party’s merger or alliance with the YPP, he said “…if there’s any party that would think of alliance or merger in this contest, it is the YPP that should come to beg us to accept them and not the other way around.

Let me say it here, and of course you know that we, the Labour Party won at many polling units in the state. We won in nearly all the Wards in Uyo Senatorial District where I come from, for instance. We also won in many wards in Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial Districts. We have all the results which shall be tendered in court at appropriate time to reclaim our mandate.

“So, why should even think of collapsing our structure for YPP in the state? Today, the Labour Party is waxing strong in Nigeria. The results so far announced by INEC show that our Party has won up to thirty four (34) seats in the House of Representatives while YPP got just one (1). At the Senate chamber, the Labour Party has won six (6) Senatorial seats so far, while the YPP won just one.

Now, between the Labour Party and YPP which one is a stronger political party? Therefore, I want to state categorically clear that the rumour is false. I, Uduakobong Udoh; the governorship candidate of Labour Party, want to use this medium to tell our teeming supporters, and OBIdients in Akwa Ibom state that I am in the 2023 governorship race to win.

I want to win this election for the unemployed youths of Akwa Ibom state. I want to win this election for the suffering and downtrodden masses of the state. I am in this election to win and deliver people-oriented governance for the people of Akwa Ibom state.

I therefore call on the good people and residents of Akwa Ibom state to discountenance such rumour as same is the figment of the mongers’ imagination. Come Saturday, 11th of March, 2023, everyone who desires change and good governance should come out and vote for the Labour Party. Vote for me, Uduak Udoh as your governor and also vote for all House of Assembly candidates of the Labour Party”.

Earlier in his address, the State Coordinator of PCC; Capt. Augustine Okon while also dissociating the Council from the rumoured alliance with any party, said such could not be envisaged as the party had a decent and competent man as governorship candidate in the state.

While describing Mr. Uduak Udoh as a man with capacity, whom he said follows the footsteps of Peter Obi, Capt. Okon said “I have good news for all OBIdients. Even though we have been robbed and raped by the system and misrepresented in such a way as to break the heart and spirit of any man.  Our principal, Mr Peter Obi is made of sterner stuff, this type of challenge brings out the best and the inner steel in our Principal. He has decided to reclaim his mandate, diligently, and resolutely through the justice system.

“We stand solidly behind him and by the grace of God His Excellency Mr Peter Obi will be President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the nearest future.

In the last one week our detractors have fed the public with a lot of disinformation such as:

-That the Labour Party  in Akwa Ibom State has collapsed and that the Labour Party has no Gubernatorial candidate.

-That the Obidients in Akwa Ibom State have adopted a candidate of another party painted in Obidient image.

“I make bold to say that Labour Party has a decent and competent man that will perform well in the Office of Governor of Akwa Ibom State closely following in the footstep and  example set by our principal when he was Governor of Anambra State.

His name is Uduakobong Peter Udoh. He is young, 42 years old, untainted by corruption, well-educated, a computer scientist. He is not coming with any political baggage to the Hilltop Mansion.

“He will payoff all arrears of  pensions and gratuity.  He will run a people-oriented government, he will allow Local Governments to operate autonomously as provided for in our Constitution. He will not pursue you with Siren. He will live with you and experience your pains.  We are positive that anybody we are presenting in Labour Party for our State House of Assembly will join our Governor to deliver good service to Akwa Ibom State.

We hereby ascertain that no one person can sell off our Labour Party or subjugate it under another party. We are the structure. We are the party. We are the multitude. If one person compromises it does nothing to our collective resolve.

Labour Party will provide the 4353 party agents needed for Saturday’s election. We encourage all OBIdient to  defend their votes on Saturday, 11th March 2023. Please come out and vote massively for the Labour Party and her candidates”.
