…to begin furnishing of Staff offices

Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Uko Umoh on Monday, in line with his earlier pledge, reconnected the Council Secretariat to the National grid, ending over 10 years of blackout. This was made known via a press release by the Media Unit of the Local Government Council dated February 26, 2024. Uko Umoh was sworn into office on December 7, 2023 as Chairman of the Council.

The release reads “In fulfillment of his promise to provide conducive environment to staff working in the Council Secretariat, the chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon. Uko Umoh, on Monday, February 26, reconnected the Council Secretariat to the national grid, more than 10 years after power supply was disconnected. 

The sudden pop of light on within the council Secretariat Monday, 26 February, ensued jubilation from staff working within the Secretariat who also commended the administration of Hon. Uko Umoh for being forthright.

It can be recalled that on December 20, few days after he assumed office, Hon. Uko Umoh had held a meeting at the Millennium Hall, Etinan with the leadership and members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), where he promised to provide a good working environment for all the staff”.

The release further disclosed that the Etinan Council Boss who is set to commence furnishing of Staff offices, aimed at repositioning the employees’ working environment for maximum productivity.

“Linking the Council Secretariat to the national grid is one of the plans Hon. Uko Umoh has to reposition the Council Secretariat for maximum  productivity. 

The local government chairman, in the next few weeks, will begin furnishing of staff offices and also giving of facelift to the council Secretariat. 

With this development, the local government chairman Hon. Uko Umoh has once again urged all the local government staff to always be available and active on their duty posts.

The chairman believes that “to whom much is given, much is expected”, the release added.
