The ambition of His Excellency, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio to emerge as President of the 10th Senate has continued to receive boosts as prominent groups and individuals within and outside Nigeria have continued to endorse his aspiration.
The latest of such endorsements comes from a women group known as Sisters With Integrity Movement 4 Good Governance and Development (SWIMGAD) in Nigeria & Diaspora.
SWIMGAD in its message tagged “Solidarity Call For The 10Th Senate Presidency In Favour Of Sen. Godswill Akpabio” also congratulated the former Governor on his victory as Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District at the February 25 National Assembly Poll, saying the Ex-Minister’s triumph was a testimony of his acceptability.
The message dated May 22, 2023 and signed by the group’s Director-General; Amb. Vivian Inyang reads thus “The National Executives and the General Members of Sisters With Integrity Movement 4 Good Governance and Development (SWIMGAD) in Nigeria & Diaspora are glad to identify with your success as the Senator Elect for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District. This overwhelming and well-deserved triumph is a testimony of the wider acceptability you enjoy across the length and breadth of Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District in particular and the entire state in general.
It is a general belief that this victory is another Vote of Confidence passed on you by your people, considering the Uncommon Transformation you brought to bear during your two tenures as governor of Akwa Ibom State. Your achievements speak loudly, thereby silencing any insignificant opposition to your Senatorial aspiration.
You are highly honoured and appreciated as the best thing that has happened to Akwa Ibom State in particular, and the entire South South at large, being not just a voice and influence but an institution that breeds leaders of tomorrow through setting of political pace which defines people-centric governance.
Your service priorities are exemplary earning you a global spotlight among the human species to be entrusted with power for the service to humanity, economic growth, capacity building, infrastructure and other democratic dividends for the survival of man in his environment.
Your Excellency sir, your antecedents are the true testimonies that you are ably qualified to take Nigeria out of the woods through capacity for effective legislation for a historic new age, especially, as the Senate president of the federal republic of Nigeria”.
On the former Minority Leader’s aspiration for the leadership of the 10th Senate, SWIMGAD expressed the hope that Senators-elect across Nigeria would seize this opportunity to reap the benefits of Akpabio’s sterling leadership qualities by electing him as Senate President.
