…pass Vote of Confidence on Obong Ibritam

Executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ukanafun Local Government Chapter have rejected the purported selection of one Ubokobong Umoh as Political Leader, describing such moves as unacceptable, illegal, null and void.

In a Communiqué signed by fifteen out of twenty-three members of the Chapter executive, the party officials noted that the office of the Ukanafun APC Political Leader was not vacant but occupied by an active leader, Obong (Barr) Freedom Ibritam whom they said was tirelessly working towards the growth and success of the party.

Maintaining that once a leader was elected, such an office could only be declared vacant on grounds of death, resignation, defection, conviction on criminal charge, etc, the Ukanafun APC executives also stressed that even where such occurred, a selection process would have been put in place, rather than imposition.

The party officials noted that the said Ubokobong Umoh lacked the moral character to lead the good people of APC in Ukanafun.

Blaming what they termed as a condemnable attempt to bring disunity among faithful members of APC in Ukanafun on the trio of the Chapter Chairman; Akan Ukpana, Vice Chairman; Charles Udo Okure and Ubokobong Umoh, the party Excos gave them a 7-day ultimatum to retract such information and also apologize.

They resolved that failure to hearken to their demand within the time frame, the matter would be reported to the state chapter of the party for disciplinary action to be taken against them.

While passing a vote of confidence on Obong (Barr) Freedom Ibritam as the APC Political Leader for Ukanafun for his exemplary leadership style and for being transparent in all his dealings, working tirelessly to bring APC that was almost dearth in Ukanafun to limelight, they said that many people were being attracted to join the party because of his leadership style.

They also pledged their total and unalloyed loyalty and support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Senate President Godswill O. Akpabio CON and the APC leadership in Akwa Ibom state.
