A’Ibom Chapter of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society congratulates new National Coordinator

Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, AWCS, Akwa Ibom State Chapter says the emergence of Hon. Olushola Kokumo as the group’s National Coordinator is a good omen, stressing that she is a round peg in a round hole.

Hon Olushola Kokumo is to act in interim capacity for 6 months from 31st May 2023 till 30th November 2023. Her emergence followed the recent death of Chief (Mrs) Tonyin Badmus who was until her demise, the National Coordinator of AWCS. The Late Woman Mobilizer was also the Iya-Oloja of Abuja.

Hon. Olushola was appointed by the unanimous votes of stakeholders who confirmed the earlier nomination of Patrons and Matrons.

Reacting to the development, the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society in a Goodwill Message signed by the State Coordinator; Dr. (Mrs.) Theresa Edem, on behalf of State Executive Council, South-South Grand Patron, Local Government Coordinators and entire members of the group, also expressed their belief in the new National Coordinator’s ability to steer the affairs of AWCS to greater successes.

The message reads in parts “On behalf of the State Executive Council, South-South Grand Patron; Chief Sunny Ibanga, Local Government Coordinators and entire members of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, I write to congratulate Hon. Olushola Kokumo on her emergence as the new National Coordinator of our noble Association.

“As a core stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, our new National Coordinator understands fully the plans of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the women of Nigeria. It was in line with these plans that the Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society was formed to provide a platform upon which the women would be empowered.

“Having served AWCS and our great Party in different capacities including Local Government Coordinator, Chapter Woman Leader, Sole Administrator, etc, we believe that you shall fit squarely into the shoes of our late National Coordinator and continue from where she stopped.

While we in Akwa Ibom State Chapter can assure you of our maximum cooperation and loyalty throughout your reign, we pray the Almighty God to grant you wisdom and strength to unite all the women in AWCS across all races in Nigeria for the purpose of attaining the objectives for which our noble Association was formed. Once again, congratulations, Our Dear National Coordinator”.
