The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey today called on the National Assembly to apply the public service rules; rules of the national Assembly and all other extant regulations.

The Speaker made the call at the opening of the National Assembly Service Commission’s retreat at Monty Suite, Uyo.

Rt. Hon. Bassey maintained that the Commission plays major role in building and managing excellent and productive work force that will provide professional services to National Assembly.

The welcomed the management staff of the National Assembly for choosing Akwa Ibom state for the retreat describing it as an agenda setting retreat which is essential, timely and packaged to build the capacity of members of the National Assembly service Commission.
” This agenda setting retreat is therefore essential, timely and packaged to build your capacity as members of the Commission to meet up your specific roles, tasks, responsibilities and expectations for successful discharge of the overall function and achievements of the Commission”.

In his Speech, the Executive Chairman of National Assembly Service Commission, Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi said the retreat will add value and progress to the commission.

He commended the serene and peaceful nature of the State which informed the choice of the Commission to make it the host for the year’s retreat.

He commended the Speaker, Rt. Hon Aniekan Bassey for finding time despite his busy schedule to attend the event.

The event featured presentation of a souvenir by the Management staff of the National Assembly service Commission to the Speaker.
