…as Sen. Ningi resigns

Barely 24 hours after the suspension of the chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Sen. Abdul Ningi, members of the Southern Senators Forum have revived their forum, electing Senator Adetokunbo Abiru representing Lagos East as Chairman.

Distinguished Senator Victor Umeh OFR was elected Vice Chairman, Southern Senators Forum.

Southern Senators Forum comprises of 51 senators from Southeast, Southsouth and Southwest.

Our paper can authoritatively report that following Sen. Abdul Ningi’s allegation of budget padding against the Senate leadership which led to the former’s suspension yesterday, there have been calls by his sympathizers for the removal of the Senate President, Distinguished Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

It could also be recalled that Sen Bamidele had yesterday, during the rowdy plenary session accused Sen Ningi and some Northern Senators of plotting to topple Akpabio’s leadership of the Senate.
