‘Your Palace must suit your status’ -Hon. Umoh

In his avowed commitment to reposition critical sectors in his area for proper functionality, the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Uko Umoh has restated that the Etinan traditional institution would be accorded all the necessary supports. Hon. Umoh made this pledge on Monday, January 29, 2024 during the Birthday Anniversary Celebration in honour of the Paramount Ruler of Etinan LGA, HRM, Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong at his Palace.
Speaking, the Council helmsman noted that his job being to ensure grassroots development, would not be achieved without active collaboration with the traditional institution.
His words “My job is to complement the efforts of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno in ensuring the implementation of the ARISE Agenda. As Chairman, I must ensure that the governor’s developmental strides are felt by Etinan people by intentionally bringing developments closer to the grassroots.
But, this cannot be achieved without working with our revered traditional fathers to maintain peace and order in our respective communities. I have said this time and again that my focus is to restore the lost glory of Etinan and to achieve this, all hands must be on deck. Your Majesty and the entire TRC must be involved for us to have the peace that would guarantee development.
“The Iman Traditional Institution deserves all the necessary supports for proper functionality. Although Your Majesty is still very new on the throne, we must ensure that the Palace is made to suit your new status as our Paramount Ruler. As a Council Chairman and as Uko Umoh, we will support you in all ramifications. We wish you a happy birthday and pray that the Almighty God should bless and give you long live with good health”.
The Council Chairman on behalf of his team donated 100 bags of cement and ten trips of sand for the takeoff of the Paramount Ruler’s new Palace. Hon. Uko Umoh also promised to foot the bill of blocks moulding, beginning from the arrival of materials till finishing from his personal pocket.
In his remarks, the Etinan Monarch thanked the council boss for his magnanimity and love especially, on his birthday saying, “Before becoming the Paramount Ruler, I have been in the TRC for some time. I have never seen a Chairman of your kind. We have seen what you have done within a short time in office.
Everyone today in Etinan is talking about how effective and pragmatic you are as Chairman. Thank you for the love you have shown to me. My family and I will not take it for granted. My continuous prayer is that God will continue to guide you through to enable you take Etinan Local Government Area to an enviable height. I pray God to elevate you more and more in Jesus name”.
Amongst the Chiefs present at the event were the Village Head of Ikot Ebo, Etinan, Eteidung Dennis Akpan and others.
In the entourage of the Chairman were his Vice, Hon. Imaobong Michael; Council Secretary, Hon. Lawrencia Etuk; SA Youth, Hon. Item Etuk; Supervisor for Political and Chieftaincy Affairs, Enefiok Etuknwa among others.
