… Zulum’s devotion is legendary says COAS

Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was yesterday evening at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army for a meeting with the the army’s chief of staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai.

Zulum said his visit was to privately discuss some “salient issues” on the ongoing fight against boko haram.

The Governor commended the army for its institutional commitment and the supreme sacrifices of personnel involved in fighting the insurgents in Borno’s search for peace.

Zulum called on the army to sustain its momentum by taking the fight to the enclaves of boko haram in order to end the war. He also called for increased synergy between the military and host civilian communities to eliminate trust deficit and enhance the generation and sharing of information that leads to actionable intelligence.

In his comment, the chief of army staff (COAS) Lt General Tukur Buratai said Governor Zulum’s commitment to the fight against boko haram is legendary and something everyone is proud of.

Burtai also described Zulum as a dynamic governor that has been of tremendous support to the Nigerian military in the combined effort to end boko haram.

The COAS reaffirmed the army’s commitment to not only continue taking their fight to the enclaves of boko haram but also to go after them beyond Nigeria’s borders through institutional collaboration with neighboring countries.
