A prominent journalist in Akwa Ibom State, Ofonime Honesty, has been abducted, together with members of his family.
Feelers from his country home of Ikot Udo Ntuen axis of Ikot Udobia community, Etinan local government area reveal that they were packed from their family house this morning.
A source who contacted our reporters said about five vehicles arrived their home around 6am this morning, adding that their abductors appeared like operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS.
Another unconfirmed source also confided that the development could be linked to an attack earlier launched on them allegedly by members of Lion-Mafia cult group in Ikot Udo Ntuen of the community.
It would be recalled that Ofonime Honesty, a front line critic of Gov Udom Emmanuel’s administration, had recently been posting on his social media handles various articles, most of which bordering on dilapidated state of roads in Etinan, cult-related activities in the state, among others.
