As the 2024 registration begins, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved one of the facilities at the Etinan Local Government Council Secretariat as its registration Centre.

This was disclosed via a release dated January 22, 2024 and signed by the Council Secretary, Hon. Lawrencia Etuk, a copy of which was obtained by our Correspondent.

The release read “This is to inform the general public that Etinan Local Government Council has been approved to be a centre for Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration.

The centre is now opened for year 2024 JAMB registration. We therefore appeal to all parents/guardians to register their wards and on time”.

Meanwhile, our paper gathered from a reliable source close to the Council that the Hon. Uko Umoh-led administration of the LGA has concluded plans to float a computer training programme for all the 2024 prospective JAMB registrants.

According to our source who did not wish to be named in this report as according to him, he was not authorized to speak on the matter, the modalities for the training would soon be published upon conclusion of plans.

“Education is one of the key areas the Council Chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh wants to focus on. His plan is to start from the ongoing JAMB. Arrangements are on to float a computer training that would help those registering for the exams in Etinan to be trained on some basic computer knowledge.

The idea of the programme is to help them prepare adequately for the exams in order to have good results”, our source confided.
