President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a few minutes ago signed into law, The Student Loan Bill. The Bill provides for interest-free loans to indigent Nigerian students.

It would be recalled that Tinubu, while mpaigning as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had promised to provide interest-free loans for indigent Nigerian students studying in higher institutions.

“Now that it’s become an Act, good times are here for the ordinary citizens. The children of the poor can now go to school without hindrances. Thank you, Mr. President. Promise made and kept”, an elated Nigerian commented while reacting to the development.

“I was pleased, today, to have signed into law, the Access to Higher Education Act which provides interest-free loans to deserving students across the country who wish to further their education in tertiary institutions.

With this Act we shall ensure that every deserving student has access to affordable and quality education, irrespective of their financial background”, President Tinubu said in a comment on his verified social media handle.
