“…we’ll work together”, Gov Umo Eno says in congralatory message

Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio Of Akwa Ibom State has emerged as The President of the Senate Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

Akpabio who is representing Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District polled a total of 63 votes to win his opponent, Sen. Yari, who scored 46 votes.

While Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio is a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, his co-contender; Yari is a former governor of Zamfara state. Both of them were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sen. Jibrin Barau has been elected as the Deputy Senate President. His election was unopposed.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has congratulated Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON, on his emergence as the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno, said “on behalf of the Government and the good people of Akwa Ibom State, I send you our hearty congratulations on your emergence as the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
