...pays tribute to forebears, vows to reposition Etinan

The Chairman of Etinan Lcal Government Area, Hon. Uko Umoh has felicitated with the Governor of Akwa Ibom State; His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, people of Etinan LGA and Christians the world over, on the occasion of the 2023 Christmas celebrations, harping on the followers of Christ to imbibe the teachings of Christ whom he described as the reason for the season.
In a Message of Goodwill which he personally signed, a copy of which was obtained by our Correspondent, the Etinan Council Boss, while thanking God and the state governor for the opportunity given to him to serve his people, reiterated his commitment to changing the narratives of the area.
Parts of the Goodwill Message tagged ‘Christmas of Hope’ read: “On behalf of the First Lady of Etinan Local Government Area -my amiable wife; Mrs. Emily Uko Umoh and my entire family, I wish to most sincerely felicitate with the people of Etinan LGA on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebrations.
May I also use this medium to congratulate the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State; His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and his dear wife; Mrs. Patience Umo Eno on this year’s auspicious occasion celebrated by billions of Christians across the globe.
It is indeed a great privilege for me to address Etinan people today in my capacity as the Chairman of the Local Government Area. I must at this juncture express my profound gratitude to the Almighty God and His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State for this opportunity granted me to serve my people. This is one opportunity I cherish so much and have no reason whatsoever, to take it for granted.
As a local government area, we have had series of administrations in the past that have contributed immensely to where we are today. They have laid foundations for our development in diverse sectors and have engineered a considerable sociopolitical awareness through which our people and the local government area have become forces to be reckoned with. It is time to move on to our next level of human capital and infrastructural development that would catapult us to Eldorado”
While calling on all and sundry to join hands with him in his avowed effort at repositioning the area, Hon. Umoh continued “As we celebrate this year’s Christmas today, I want to call on all Etinan people, wherever they are to re-cogitate on our present condition as a people. Our Savior and Messiah -Jesus The Christ is the reason for this season. Let’s celebrate this season with hope of better days ahead.
It is my sincere dream to reposition Etinan LGA with a view to complementing the efforts of our forebears who fought for her creation.
Let us come together as a people, irrespective of political parties and interest inclinations and think ‘Etinan First’! The Almighty God has bestowed upon me this golden opportunity to rewrite our history and effect a positive change for a new narrative. It is indeed an opportunity I must use effectively to justify the essence of my emergence as Chairman. Let’s come together and build a better Etinan for our yet unborn generations”.
