Government of Akwa Ibom state has announced that this month’s edition of the statewide environmental sanitation would be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, across the state.

The state government while dropping the hint today, through the state Commissioner for information, Mr. Charles Udoh, maintained that there shall be restriction of movement within the duration of the exercise which would last between 7am to 10am.

The press release noted: “The March edition of the monthly sanitation exercise will hold tomorrow Saturday, March 28,2020.

“As usual, there will be RESTRICTION of human and vehicular movements across the State between between 7 and 10 a.m.

Calling on indigenes of the state to maintain safety tips for the prevention of the Corona virus, the government said: “Residents and citizens are advised to localize their environmental sanitation activities to their immediate environment while adhering to strict Personal and Respiratory Hygiene guidelines earlier announced in the fight against COVID 19. It is also important to continue to observe SOCIAL DISTANCING, avoid shaking hands, and embracing, and keep at least six feet distance from anyone who is sneezing or coughing.

“Officials of Government, Law Enforcement Agents and Waste Evacuation Workers will be on patrol to monitor the exercise, enforce compliance and promptly evacuate waste materials generated”.
